Apple's MacBook raised the bar for ultraportables in 2015 with its amazingly thin and light design, and HP is ready to steal some of that thunder with its svelte EliteBook Folio. Available for $999 in March, the EliteBook starts at $300 less than Apple's status symbol and boasts business-friendly features road warriors will appreciate.<br>
We had a chance to go hands-on with HP's lightest laptop yet, and it's easily the most striking system the company has ever made.<br>

The HP Pavilion x360 is so much faster than other budget 2-in-1s that it's almost not a fair fight.  For $449, you get a powerful Intel Core M processor and solid battery life in a highly flexible design. Most other systems in this class make due a slower Pentium CPU. However, a couple of issues keep this convertible from rising to the ranks of an Editors' Choice pick.<br />

<strong>Design: Looks Familiar</strong></div>

The Pavilion x360's rounded edges and black plastic interior remind us of a smaller Dell XPS 13, which is not a bad thing. We appreciate the sturdy hinges, which enable the x360 to change modes. Although Natural Silver is the default color, HP's hybrid is also available in Sunset Red or Minty Green. However, both palette swaps will cost an additional $10.<br />
Weighing 3.2 pounds, the 12.05 x 8.19 x 0.89-inch x360 is heavier and thicker than other budget 2-in-1s we've tested. For example, the 3.1-pound Dell Inspiron 11 3000 has a smaller,  11.8 x 7.9-inch footprint and is a thinner 0.74 inches, whereas the Lenovo Flex 3 11 is 3 pounds and measures 11.8 x 8.2 x 0.86 inches.<br />

For a 2-in-1, the x360 is pretty generous with ports, placing two USB 3.0 ports on the right side with a full HDMI port, an expandable Ethernet port, jacks for a headset and the power cord and a Windows button. On the left, you'll find a single USB 2.0 port with an SD card reader, a secure lock slot and a button for power and volume.<br />

HP's hybrid has a full-size island-style keyboard that is well spaced with decent feedback. Although it has the same key travel as the Inspiron 11 3000 (1.5 millimeters), the Dell delivered the best feedback with an actuation force of 60 grams, compared to 55g (higher is better). Still, I hit my usual 60 words per minute on the 10FastFingers Typing Test on the x360.<br />
The x360's 3.75 x 2.2-inch touchpad is a tad small compared with the Inspiron 11's 4.1 x 2.4-inch pad, but it gets the job done. The two input devices were equally matched in terms of responsiveness and accuracy for navigating Web pages and performing gestures such as pinch-zoom, two-finger scroll and rotate.<br />
<h3>
Multi-Mode: Relatively Seamless Transitions</h3>
The Pavilion x360 isn't new to the growing market of shapeshifting laptops. Similar to the Lenovo Yoga series, the x360 employs a pair of 360-degree hinges that allow the notebook to contort into four useful forms with a smooth folding action: laptop, tablet, tent and stand.<br />

Folding the keyboard portion of the laptop backward onto the lid puts you in tablet mode, while bending both ends of the laptop creates Tent mode. Placing the keyboard keys down and pushing the display back slightly, you'll enter Stand mode. Similar to other convertibles, Tent and Stand modes are useful for viewing content in tight spaces or sharing movies or slideshows with others.<br />
When switching between Laptop and Tablet modes in Windows 10, you'll receive a prompt asking if you want to enable/disable Tablet mode. Once you make your selection, it takes the display 2 seconds to reorient itself.<br />
<h3>
Audio and Display: Plenty of Oomph, Needs More Color</h3>
The x360 might be a budget 2-in-1, but its audio is anything but. Fresh off of HP's new partnership with Band & Olufsen, the x360 is one of the first laptops to feature the new B&O Play software. Comprised of a graphic equalizer and three sliders for Music, Voice and Movie, the software optimizes the sound coming from the pair of bottom-mounted speakers.<br />
As a result, the small, 11.6-inch hybrid has no difficulties filling up a large room with clear, robust sound. During the Suicide Squad trailer, I could hear Viola Davis' knife slice through her juicy steak that ended with a loud clink when the cutlery connected with the dinner plate.<br />

The Pavilion x360's 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 touch screen provides plenty of detail but muted color. I could easily make out the delicate leather pattern in Killer Croc's jacket in the 1080p Suicide Squad trailer. However, placing the HP next to the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 elicited several shoulda, coulda, wouldas.<br />
Croc's countenance took on a yellow-grayish pall on the x360, but on the Inspiron 11 there was an injection of green and brown that made the supervillain more lifelike and disturbing.<br />
The proof is in the numbers pudding. When measured for brightness, the x360 averaged 227 nits, just below the 234-nit budget convertible average. The Inspiron 11 3000, on the other hand, was our top performer at 308 nits. On the gamut test, which measures color reproduction, the x360 hit 69 percent, barely beating the 68 percent average. Once again, the Inspiron 11 came out on top with 81.4 percent.<br />
<h3>
Performance: Behold the Power of Core M</h3>
The HP Pavilion x360 is the first budget 2-in-1 we've tested powered by Intel's Core M processor, which runs circles around Pentium-powered portables. The convertible's dual-core 1.9-GHz Intel M-Y510c CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB SSD flexed its muscles during my real-world multitasking test, streaming an episode of BoJack Horseman while running a system scan with seven open tabs in Google Chrome.<br />
On the synthetic Geekbench 3 test, the HP produced a score of 3,992. Only the Asus TP300 (1.9-GHz Intel Core i3-4030U CPU) came close, with a score of 3,922, while the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 (2.2-GHz Intel Pentium N3540 CPU) produced 3,406.<br />
The x360 consistently topped the charts in all other tests, including hard drive speed (82 MBps on file transfer) and graphics (23,664 on 3DMark). It took the hybrid only 25.9 seconds to open a 64MB Word document with images of varying sizes, handily beating the 44.2-second average. The Core i3-powered Asus TP300 came in second at 34.9 seconds, while the Pentium-powered Inspiron 11 turned finished in 42.6 seconds.<br />
In terms of gaming, the x360's integrated Intel HD Graphics achieved 27 frames per minute on the World of Warcraft benchmark. That's slightly below the Laptop Mag 30 fps playability threshold, but it handily beat all other competitors.<br />
One of the supposed benefits of Core M is that the laptop doesn't need a fan, but the Pavilion x360 could use one. After playing an HD video for 15 minutes, the bottom of the hybrid hit a knickers-scorching 124 degrees.<br />
<h3>
Battery Life: Good, Not Great</h3>
The Pavilion X360's endurance is literally middle of the road. The convertible matched the 6 hour and 26 budget 2-in-1 average on the Laptop Mag Battery Test (continuous Web surfing over Wi-Fi at 100 nits). The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 ran a little bit longer at 6:42 and the smaller Atom-powered Aspire Switch 10 E lasted 8:28.<br />
<h3>
Software: Less Is More</h3>
While I prefer a laptop be more of a blank canvas, I was pleased to see that most of the apps HP installed aren't bloatware. The HP-branded software includes Connected Drive, a cloud storage app that allows you to transfer files up to 100MB between up to 10 devices.<br />
Connected Music lets you listen to Internet radio and subscription music services as well as locally stored files in one place. Connected Photo, which was recently rebranded as the Snapfish app, lets you upload and access photos across devices as well as order prints of your favorite shots.<br />
Third-party apps include Evernote, Netflix, Fresh Paint and the magazine subscription service Next Issue. If the convertible's 128GB SSD isn't enough storage, Microsoft has partnered with Dropbox to give users 25GB of space for six months. The laptop also comes with a 30-day free trial of McAfee LiveSafe.<br />
<h3>
Bottom Line</h3>
HP has delivered a cheap 2-in-1 that's fast enough to be your primary PC. For $499, the Pavilion x360 11 offers a powerful Intel Core M processor, impressive audio and solid battery life in highly versatile convertible frame. However, the hot-running underside and not-so-hot colors on the display prevent this hybrid from being an Editors' Choice.<br />
That award goes to the $440 Dell Inspiron 11 3000, which has a brighter and richer display, longer battery life and a slimmer and cooler-running design. However, I still recommend the Pavilion x360 11 for those looking to get the most power out of their hard-earned money</div>

Design</h3>
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then HP's competitors must all be blushing. For the Spectre x360, HP looks like it combined the best ideas from most other top-end Ultrabooks.<br />

Its polished metal sides, not unlike the Samsung ATIV Book 9, are a nice contrast to the matte finish on the lid and bottom. As with the Toshiba Kirabook, the front edges are rounded, while the rear edges have a sharper right angle. Finally, the rear portion of the lid and the bottom section are each rounded and connected by two shiny hinges, similar to the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.<br />
The lid has a clean, minimalist look: It's unadorned except for a small groove near the top and an offset "Hewlett-Packard" in the middle. Inside, the x360 is all HP. The keyboard deck, a silver-on-silver treatment, is reminiscent of other HP systems, and the extra-wide Clickpad is also a holdover from earlier Spectre-branded notebooks.<br />

Also on the right is a volume rocker, useful for when you're using the x360 in tablet mode.<br />
At 3.26 pounds, the x360 is heavier than most other 13-inch ultraportables. Among those whose screens can fold back 360 degrees, the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro is a full pound lighter, as is the nonfolding Dell XPS 13 (2.5 pounds). The MacBook Air weighs 2.9 pounds.<br />
Like with other convertible notebooks, the Stand mode (with the keyboard facing down) will be useful when watching movies in compact spaces, such as when the notebook is on an airline tray table. However, the sharp edges and weight of the x360 made it unwieldy and uncomfortable to hold in Tablet mode.<br />

HP says the x360's hinges contain a set of three spiral gears "for synchronized and precise movement." All I know is that it opened and closed fairly easily, and was stiff enough so that I could poke at the screen without it wobbling too much.<br />

Display</h3>
Recently, many notebook makers have outfitted their high-end Ultrabooks with UltraHD displays. On most versions of the x360, HP eschews that trend, opting for a 1080p touch screen, which is plenty sharp and colorful, and most likely helps save battery life. (A quad-HD touch screen will be available, but only on the most expensive configuration.)<br />

Details were sharp enough to see the stubble on the face of just about every male actor.<br />
At 339 nits, the x360 outshines its competition, besting the average ultraportable (255 nits) by a fair margin. The Yoga 3 Pro is the next brightest, at 318 nits, followed by the XPS 13 (298 nits) and the MacBook Air (288 nits).<br />
Our display tests backed up my initial impressions: The x360's screen can produce 103.2 percent of the sRGB spectrum (anything around 100 percent is very good). The panel's Delta-E score of 1.25 (numbers closer to 0 are better) means that the colors are highly accurate, too.<br />
<h3>
Audio</h3>
Like its display, the x360's audio also impressed. Kurt Russell's growling voice in Furious 7 was full throated, as were explosions, gunfire and the roar of V12 engines. Vocals were also front and center in Vance Joy's "Riptide." Higher tones, such as guitar strums and the tambourine, were pronounced without being muddy.<br />
Although it seemed to boom in my office, the x360's speakers weren't the loudest. Registering 82 decibels (as measured from 23 inches away), the notebook was a touch quieter than average (85 dB) and the Yoga 3 (86 dB), and nowhere near as loud as the XPS 13 (94 dB).<br />

Keyboard and Touchpad</h3>
In all, typing on the x360 was a pleasurable experience. The x360's keys have 1.34mm of travel and require 62 grams of force to press; both numbers are typical of most notebooks (1.32mm/57 grams). While the keys were slightly mushier than I'd prefer, it didn't affect my typing speed by much. On the 10fastfingers typing test, I averaged 59 words per minute with 92 percent accuracy, nearly on a par with my desktop average of 60 wpm with 97 percent accuracy.<br />

The superwide Synaptics Clickpad (5.5 x 2.5 inches) has similar dimensions to the 15-inch Envy x360, but lacks the former's Control Zones -- sections on the right and left sides that made it easier to launch Windows 8 gestures. The cursor never jumped, either, a problem I've experienced with other Ultrabooks.<br />
<h3>
Heat</h3>
Like cookware, aluminum-clad notebooks tend to absorb heat, and the Spectre x360 is no different. After streaming a Hulu video at full screen for 15 minutes, the touchpad (81 degrees Fahrenheit) and the space between the G and H (86 degrees) were relatively cool. However, the bottom rose to 100 degrees, which is 5 degrees higher than we consider comfortable.<br />
<h3>
Ports and Webcam</h3>
On the left side of the x360 is a single USB 3.0 port, an SD Card slot, the power button and a jack for the power plug. On the right are two more USB 3.0 ports, a headphone port, a full-size HDMI port and a miniDisplay Port.<br />

To top it off, there was a great deal of visual noise.<br />

Performance</h3>
Powered by 2.2-GHz Intel Core i5-5200U processor and 8B of RAM, the Spectre x360 had enough muscle to perform a full system scan using McAfee, run our Spreadsheet test and play an episode of Modern Family on Hulu at full screen without lag.<br />
On Geekbench 3, which measures overall performance, the x360's score of 5,614 trumped the average (4,037) as well as the XPS 13 (5,530), which has the same CPU. The MacBook Air (5,393) came in just behind, and the Yoga 3 Pro's Core M processor scored 4,571.<br />
The x360 finished our Spreadsheet Test (pairing 20,000 names and addresses in OpenOffice portable) in 5 minutes and 4 seconds. That's on a par with the XPS 13 (5:02) and about 40 seconds faster than the Yoga 3 Pro.<br />
While not as fast as the MacBook Air (190.3 MBps) or the Yoga 3 Pro (175 MBps), the x360's 256GB SSD duplicated 4.97GB of multimedia files at a rate of 141.4 MBps. That's enough to beat the category average (121.7 MBps) as well as the nontouch XPS 13 (87.7 MBps).<br />
<h3>
Graphics</h3>
Intel HD Graphics 5000 GPUs, such as the one found in the x360, are good for lightweight games, but will struggle on more demanding titles and systems with higher resolutions. The x360 managed only 26 frames per second on World of Warcraft at its native resolution and effects on autodetect. That's on a par with the category average (29 fps) and a few ticks below the XPS 13 (33 fps).<br />
<h3>
Battery Life</h3>
The Spectre x360 is one of the longest-running 2-in-1s we've tested. The system's 3-cell 56-wHr battery lasted 9 hours and 28 minutes on the Laptop Mag Battery Test (Web surfing via Wi-Fi at 100 nits).<br />

That's about 2 hours longer than the category average (7:27) and touch-screen version of the XPS 13 (7:24) and an hour longer than the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro. The nontouch Dell XPS 13 (11:42) and the MacBook Air (12:20) both endured considerably longer, but not having a touch screen increases battery life.<br />
<h3>
Software and Warranty</h3>
HP includes its trio of "Connected" utilities. Connected Music acts as a portal for audio from both local files (such as your iTunes library) and streaming sources such as TuneIn Radio.<br />

Connected Drive is a means to view all your photos, videos, documents and music on your PC, tablet, phone (Android and iOS) and cloud services (Box.net, Facebook, Dropbox and Google Drive).<br />
Third-party apps include Netflix, CyberLink Power Media Player and CyberLink YouCam. Users also get a one-year subscription to McAfee LiveSafe.<br />

Configurations</h3>
The HP Spectre x360 starts at a very reasonable $899, which gets you a 2.2-GHz Intel Core i5-5200U processor, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. You can configure this version with 8GB of RAM ($50), a Core i7-5500U processor ($150), and a 256GB SSD ($50) or 512GB SSD ($200). For the money, I'd recommend the 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD.<br />

At the top end, a quad-HD version of the x360, available in April, will have a Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, and will cost $1,399.<br />

Bottom Line</h3>
With long battery life, good performance and an attractive design, the HP Spectre x360 is one of the best convertible notebooks you can buy. While not as light, or convenient, in tablet mode as the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro, the x360 is less expensive, has a more powerful processor and lasts longer on a charge. If you're not interested in a convertible, the nontouch version of the Dell XPS 13 offers similar performance and much longer battery life in a smaller package. But if you want something that can adapt with your needs, the Spectre x360 is a very good choice.</div>

1. Open Websites in IE for Compatibility Issues</h2>
While Edge is a modern browser, you can stumble upon compatibility issues on some websites. For example, certain websites that require a Silverlight plugin to function are not compatible with Microsoft Edge, you will see the Download Silverlight button on them. Moreover, many websites which have not updated in the recent past and still function on older HTML and CSS might look broken.<br />
In such cases, you can click on the Edge browser <em>3-Dot menu</em> and select the option <em>Open with Internet Explorer</em>. Still if you need to run a website in the older version of Internet Explorer, press <em>F12</em> to open the debugging mode. 2. View Saved Passwords</h2>
Microsoft Edge saved passwords are stored in Windows Credential Manager. Open Control Panel and navigate to the <em>Credential Manager option.</em><br />

Here, you will find Web Credentials which host all the web passwords that are stored using Edge Browser. In the summary, you will see the login URL along with the username you use on the website. If you expand, you will the password hidden along with the option to reveal the password. For security reasons, Windows will ask you for the administrative password before revealing the passwords in plain text.<br />

The trick is useful to retrieve passwords, but can raise some security concerns. If you would like to disable the settings, you can open Edge Browser’s <em>Settings</em> and navigate to <em>Advanced Settings</em> to disable the offer to save the passwords.<br />

3. Pin Websites to Start</h2>
If you visit a website on a regular basis, you can pin them to Start menu and desktop for one-tap access on tablets. To pin a website, just open the webpage and select the option <em>Pin this page to Start</em> from the 3-dotted menu.<br />

As obvious as it is, the default browser for Microsoft Edge is Bing. The E5 is easily the best built Chinese droid we’ve come across to date. The unibody plastic chassis lends an understated premiumness to the phone and the matt texture keeps fingerprints at bay, for the most part. The E5 is fairly slim at 7.9mm and light as well. There are three capacitive buttons in the front and a 5MP front-facing camera up top. The buttons on the side are well placed although we would have liked it better if the power button was on the side rather than on top.<br />The speaker grill is on the bottom along with the micro USB charging port. This design choice is also very reminiscent of Apple’s iPhone 5. Around the back, we just have the 13MP camera and a single LED flash. The Gionee branding is discretely placed at the bottom of the phone. Overall, the E5 scores full marks for design and aesthetics and easily rivals phones priced much higher.</div>
